3. Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of the National Association of REALTORS®

Be ethical: Learn the Code. Live the Code.  — National Association of REALTORS®

Clients and associates expect greater levels of professionalism and service from Agents who have earned the designation “REALTOR®.” A century ago, the National Association of REALTORS® established a Code of Ethics to hold REALTORS® uniformly to high expectations.

This Code is more than a list of ‘thou shalts’ and ‘thou shalt nots.’ It’s a practical guide that can help you sell more real estate. Your business cannot thrive without the trust of your clients, prospects and associates. And trust is something you can’t simply ask for. You must earn it.

The real estate business has become increasingly competitive and complex as technology has advanced and consumers have become even more attentive to the digital real estate universe. There is more visibility and access to market information than ever before, and yet more obscurity about what it really takes to get into the right home. Your reputation as the most ethical expert is not only a hallmark of the REALTOR® brand, it’s a value proposition that you offer every client to ensure their best interests are the top priority.
