2.13 Golden Rule Principals
The Golden Rule should always prevail in the office. Agents are entitled to a quiet atmosphere. They must be given the opportunity to outline their work and concentrate on conducting their business without undue interruptions by their fellow Agents. Conference rooms are primarily for the use of the Agent with a customer and that Agent may preempt anyone using the room for phone calls or other work. Please be accommodating to your fellow Agents with customers or clients. Agents and staff are asked to keep their individual work areas and all other areas such as the kitchen, conference rooms, etc. neat and clean.
Whenever an Agent has a prospect in the office, others must be careful of what is said. Never discuss financing, listings or anything pertinent to real estate within earshot of customers, as it may adversely affect their thinking and cause a listing or sale to be lost. Never volunteer information of any kind unless it is requested of you and then answer what is only specifically asked and bow out gracefully from there.
Often during the day, customers and prospects come into our office to seek assistance, list property, inquire about properties for sale or to see a particular associate. Customers should be directed to wait for their associate in the lobby or a conference room and never be allowed unescorted into the Agent space.
